About Mr. Griffith
I would just like to take a moment to introduce myself and to welcome you to my classes. I am excited and proud to be a member of Kelseyville High School and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
My name is Robert Griffith. I was born in Ukiah but happily call Kelseyville my home. I am married with 5 wonderful children (2 sons and 3 daughters) -- two of them students at Mendocino College (graduates of Kelseyville High School) and one currently a Junior at KHS. One is in 6th grade and our youngest is just over a year old.
I have been using computers since I was 13 years old, but began actually working with them (as a computer lab aide at Mendocino College) back in 1987. I began teaching computer science for Mendocino College in 1998 and then at Ukiah High School a few months later where I developed a curriculum for advanced computer technology. I have taught web design, graphic design, photo editing, multimedia, animation, 3D graphics, photography, JAVA programming, video editing, office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), keyboarding/typing, business, Personal Finance, 7th grade Social Studies, 8th grade U.S. History, and 11th grade U.S. History. I have also done professional web design, graphic design, photo restoration, genealogy, etc.
As a teacher I have won the MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) Educator of the Year award, the Ukiah High School Distinguished Educator award, and the Terrace Middle School Most Inspiring Teacher award. My hobbies include web design, graphic design, genealogy, and creating video tutorials for a variety of software applications.
I have worked in a variety of occupations throughout my life (insurance, health information management, bookkeeper, dishwasher, bowling alley waxer, and more), but my absolute passion is teaching. I actually collect books about teaching, teacher Valentines, antique teacher's certificates, etc. It's what I absolutely love to do.
I am sincerely excited about this year and about taking the Computer Science and Business programs at KHS into new and exciting territories. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions at all.
Thanks!
Robert Griffith
